Silence and quietness give you the possibility to feel sensations, to connect with your body, to listen to your inner voice instead of the daily chatter and thoughts of your mind and outer distractions. It gives you the opportunity to cultivate your body, mind and heart awareness and embed your physical and mental practice in your system in a holistic and wholesome way. Joy, compassion, courage, grace and equanimity will become your daily compass.
The daily strengthening but gently given Ashtanga based yoga, the silent, guided mindfulness meditations and the loving and inviting Yin yoga with a view on Pori Beach of Koufonisia will open your body, your mind, and your heart. And invites you to investigate what is and to let go of what should.
The small unspoiled Cycladic island Koufonisia is a rare gem and a true hideaway where the sound of the sea and the wind will surround you. No cars, no scooters, just a handful of tourists, little secret bays, blue skies, a vast wideness, bright sun and nature that leaves you in awe.
The energy of this tiny island, the sea, the food, the teachings will rejuvenate you and contribute to your overall well-being. The only downside, you might not want to take the ferry back home; there is some magic here.\

What they say about the retreat:
“It was magic to find Karianne and the retreat, like finding water in the desert. I’am so grateful for the experience and I would love to have the opportunity to attend more classes with her in the future. And the memory of her voice with her meditations are in my head and the way she said “again and again”… when she talks about the breath is still so very present.” – Roser Serradell, Barcelona Spain
“We navigated between whirlpools and rocks. Koufonisia, island of the sun. Cycladic beauty. Gently rugged with soft sandy beaches, white and blue houses. Clear sea, mirror of the soul. A chance for self-reflection, rebirth. Karianne a wonderful kind intelligent teacher and host.” – Alain Zak, London UK
“It was exactly where I needed to be as I discovered the most welcoming and supportive environment allowing me to further my practice at my own pace and level. I was truly honored to be surrounded by such incredible, supportive and insightful yoga teachers and students from around the world. The retreat was the perfect balance of daily yoga practice, group workshops and free time to just be and take in the stunning island of Koufonsia – a magical island of beauty that I secretly hope remains off the radar of many! Without a second of hesitation, I’ve already made plans to return to the retreat for the third time in 2020.” – Michele, NYC USA
Conde Nast on Koufonissia:
Standing on the port in the chora or Old Town, it’s easy to understand the appeal of this Med-Montauk. It evokes the untouched, otherworldly island life that Jackie Onassis encountered as she yachted from island to island four decades ago. Strolling around its steep, cobbled alleyways — the main street is barely wide enough for a hand-held cart—it feels like a throwback to Greece’s glory days…..
Travel to Koufonisia:
Koufonisia belongs to the Cyclades islands and can only be accessed via boat. Koufonisia can be reached via boat from Santorini, Mykonos, Naxos or Athens. From Mykonos, Naxos and Santorini the boat trip with Seajet is 1,5 hours or 3,5 hours. Piraeus port is a 60 minutes drive from Athens International Airport, accessible via metro, and the High Speed ferry takes 4,5 hours to Koufonisia. We advise our guests to allow one day before and after the retreat for their travelling.
